Produced in 2008 by the Royal Canadian Mint, the 2008 1 oz Canadian Silver Maple Leaf Coin is now available in brilliant uncirculated (BU) condition. Each coin weighs 1 troy ounce and has been minted in .9999 fine silver. These coins also have a legal tender status of $5 in Canada. To protect each coin’s condition they will be shipped in a protective sleeve or their original tubes for orders greater than 25 coins.

Coins are similar to rounds in that they are the same shape (round) and their weights are measured the same. However, a coin is minted by a government, and a round is minted by a private company. Since the 2008 Canada Maple Leaf was minted by the Canadian government, its proper title is a “coin” rather than a “round.”
